Mt. Isarog is a potentially active, heavily-forested volcano located right in the middle of Camarines Sur, less than 30 minutes away from the downtown Naga.  It is the highest forested peak in Bicol rising to almost 6,000 feet above sea level and a favorite destination among mountain climbers and hikers from all over the country and even abroad.  Mt. Isarog Natural Park is one of the oldest national parks in the country, covering an area of more than 10,000 hectares, established in 1993 during the American period.  Because of its dense vegetation and strict protection policies, the volcano is home to a multitude of rare endemic insects and reptiles like the isolated mountain frog, and small mammals like the Isarog Shrew Rat.  An estimated 100 waterfalls can be found on its slopes, the most famous of which is Malabsay Falls in Naga City, a forty-foot high cascade of pristine cool.  Within Naga, visitors can safely trek to three other waterfalls aside from Malabsay Falls: Nabontolan Falls, Baby Falls, and Tinago (Secret/Hidden) Falls.
